Workshop on Internet safety and Pre-writing skills, Saturday, 16th September, 2023:
Children have access to everything these days, and the internet isn’t always the safest place when a child is exposed to technology at such a young age. When technology is being introduced to children, it worries parents about how safe their child is while using the internet. Hence a session on “Internet Safety and Device use” was conducted for our Sr KG students and parents by our very own School Counselor, Ms. Annie Roberts and Special Educator, Ms. Laxmi Bomdi. They explained to the parents about the dangers lurking on the internet, grooming, etc along with the negative effects of prolonged device use. They also gave some tips to the parents on how they can keep their children safe online. They also spoke to the students to be more careful while using gadgets and to clean the earphones before plugging in the ears. For the Jr KG parents, a session on “Perception and Pre-writing Skills” was conducted by them. How parents can provide the initial foundation and prepare their child to smoothly transition to writing, was told to the parents. Fine motor activities that can help develop a proper grip for writing were also discussed with the parents. They also patiently answered all queries from parents and clarified their doubts on these issues. All in all, these were both informative sessions for both parents and students.
