To strengthen the partnership between home and school in developing children’s language skills, St. Dominic Savio High School – Primary Section conducted a Literacy Workshop for Parents on 25th July 2026. Parents of STD 1 and 2 participated in engaging activities such as Alphabetical Order, Picture Talk, Catch the Rhyming Ball, Mystery Box, Action Game, and Build a Story, which highlighted the importance of vocabulary, phonics, sequencing, creativity, and oral expression.
Parents of STD 3 and 4 explored Sentence Builder Challenge, Grammar Scavenger Hunt, Preposition Selfie Challenge, Describe Without Naming, and Tense Race, gaining practical strategies to strengthen grammar, communication, and sentence construction in enjoyable ways. The workshop provided parents with first-hand experience of interactive teaching methods that can easily be continued at home. Their enthusiastic participation, thoughtful reflections, and positive feedback reflected a shared commitment to making literacy meaningful, enjoyable, and effective, ultimately fostering confident, independent, and lifelong learners.
