Nurturing Little Learners: Workshop on Literacy and Pre-writing Skills for Parents
A session on Pre-writing Skills was conducted for our Jr KG parents and new parents of Sr KG students by our school counselors, Ms. Teresa Dias and Ms. Laxmi Bomdi on Saturday, September 27, 2025. During the session, they provided important tips to parents on overcoming writing challenges in children. The importance of perception, gross and fine motor skills in a child’s development was also explained to them.
This was followed by a literacy workshop titled “Developing Language Skills in Children” by our English teacher, Ms. Glacxy Ferrao, which aimed to familiarize parents with the “Play while we learn” methodology used in the pre-primary section. The dull rainy day turned lively as parents participated in a fun energizer, answered riddles and memory games, and engaged in activities like Alphabet Dumb Charades, Alphabet Bingo, and Finding Your Alphabet Partner. The importance of cultivating reading habits was emphasized, leaving parents motivated and confident to support their child’s literacy journey.
The workshop left parents enriched with practical strategies, inspired to make learning joyful, and ready to actively support their child’s literacy journey at home.
