The Primary Section of St. Dominic Savio School conducted the Creative Minds – Zero Waste Competition on 8th August 2026, providing students with an exciting platform to transform waste into wonderful creations. Each standard explored a unique theme: “Magic with Socks” for Standard I, Decorative wall hangings from waste materials for Standard II, “Newspaper Innovations” for Standard III, and “Eco-Friendly Board Games from Waste Materials” for Standard IV.
The competition aimed to nurture creativity, imagination, innovation and problem-solving skills while fostering environmental awareness. Students learned that discarded materials can be given a new purpose through thoughtful ideas and resourcefulness. The activity also encouraged teamwork, responsible consumption and the importance of reducing waste. Through their enthusiastic participation and innovative creations, the children demonstrated that creativity can turn waste into wonder, inspiring them to adopt sustainable practices in their everyday lives.
