“Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.” – John Lennon
The Std II Cultural Day, celebrated on 13th September 2025, was a joyful and meaningful event that left a lasting impact on all present. With the theme “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with the Young… on the Path of Peace” and the sub-theme “Peace Begins with Me,” the programme beautifully highlighted harmony, hope, and togetherness.
The dignitaries were warmly welcomed with bracelets, Peace takeaways and the lively beats of the dhol, creating an atmosphere of celebration. The ceremony began with the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing wisdom, blessings, and positivity.
The cultural programme opened with a melodious welcome song, followed by a heartfelt Qawaali by the students. Through shayari and rhythmic verses, the children conveyed the powerful message that peace is a personal choice and responsibility. The audience joined in enthusiastically with applause and cheerful responses like ‘wah wah wah’ and ‘irshaad.’
A meaningful skit, “The Power of Peace Inside Me,” illustrated how peace is not only freedom from conflict but also the daily practice of listening, forgiving, sharing, and spreading kindness. Parents resonated deeply with the realistic situations, finding the message both simple and profound.
The energy rose higher with a lively dance performance that filled the hall with smiles and cheer. The finale united all participants in a symbolic peace circle, where children held doves and hearts, echoing the powerful thought: “Peace begins with me.”
A special highlight was the address by Rev. Fr. Franco Pereira, Rector and Manager, who inspired everyone to live the message of peace in their homes and communities. His words reminded the audience that peace is not just spoken about but lived through small, conscious acts.
Parents and guests left the hall touched and inspired, expressing how the performances encouraged them to practice peace in everyday life. The event was more than a showcase of talent—it was a reminder that even small acts of love and kindness can strengthen hope and unity in society.
In conclusion, the Std II Cultural Day spread joy, touched hearts, and left everyone with the timeless reminder that true change begins within, because peace truly begins with me.
