The students of STD V conducted a meaningful assembly on Saturday, 8th August 2026, centred on the theme “Listening Hearts – Cultivating attentiveness to God, to conscience and to one another.” The assembly encouraged students to look beyond merely hearing and learn to listen with their hearts.
Through a thought-provoking skit, The Voices We Don’t Hear, the students highlighted the importance of noticing the needs, feelings and unspoken concerns of those around us. The presentation beautifully conveyed how prayer, conscience, empathy and simple acts of kindness can make a difference.
Addressing the gathering, Rector and Manager Rev. Fr. Francisco Pereira reminded the students that amidst today’s busy world, it is important to pause, stop and look around. He narrated an incident from the life of Thomas Jefferson, urging the students to listen to their hearts, recognise needs, make the right choices and act with love. His message was a gentle reminder that pausing to reflect can lead to peace and meaningful action.
