Building Stronger Bonds: EDCG Parent Engagement Session
At St. Dominic Savio High School, the EDCG (Emotional Development and Career Guidance) Parent Sessions were held from 14th to 20th February, 2026 for parents of Std V to IX, facilitated by the counsellors of Prafulta, Centre for Psychological Wellness.
The sessions began with a prayer and an introduction by the Principal, Ms. Valerie Mascarenhas. The counsellors shared the objectives of the EDCG programme, emphasising students’ emotional well-being and overall development.
Key discussions focused on the Anti-Bullying Campaign, understanding emotions through the Emotion Iceberg, recognising behavioural triggers, and practising mindful parenting. Parents also reflected on communication, academic expectations, screen time, and self-care.
The session highlighted the importance of empathy, open communication, and responsible parenting in nurturing confident and emotionally secure children.
