To celebrate the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2020, the students of St. Dominic Savio High School went on a virtual field trip to places that house the cherished memories of Gandhiji. The program began with a video on the life of Gandhiji that captured moments and events from the time of his birth to his active participation in the Indian Freedom Struggle.
The students of STDs V – VII then viewed a short story on Gandhi’s Three Monkeys and went on a virtual visit to the Statue of the Three Monkeys at the Sabarmati Aashram at Ahmedabad. When given the option of adding a fourth monkey and what it could symbolise, our little ones came up with innovative and thought-provoking responses.
On the other hand, the students of STDs VIII – X virtually visited the Eternal Gandhi Interactive Multi-media Museum at New Delhi which was frequently the venue for important meetings between Mahatma Gandhi and other national leaders. This was followed by a meaningful discussion on the life of Gandhiji. Thus, the children were encouraged to adopt at least one of the values propagated by Gandhiji and follow it in their daily life.
