From the Principals Desk

Dear Savion Family Members,

Welcome to the new school year! If it is another year for you, welcome back. If you are new to our school, we are glad to have you join us. We hope in the couple of weeks gone by, you are well adjusted. We know that you are going to enjoy being part of this vibrant school community especially as it approaches its Golden Jubilee year!.

We welcome to the team Rev. Fr. Ranson D’souza, the new Vice-principal of the school. His expertise and Salesian charism is going add great value to the school.  Also joining the teaching faculty in the secondary section this year, we have Br. Kiran and Ms Joanna.

As everyone watches the FIFA World Cup with great thrill and expectation, we see that ability is not enough to rise up to the expectations. The grace of God combined with the prolonged hard work and strategies carefully crafted out are game changers! We are pleased that by the grace of God, the hard work of our students and support of our teachers and parents, the SSC batch 2017-2018, have all successfully scaled up to their next academic venture. We wish them the very best as they continue to make their positive contribution to the world.

Keeping the interest of the children at the very center, the school has undergone several infrastructural and academic enhancements the main ones I list below:

Infrastructural Upgrades:

  • The student washrooms have been completely renovated.
  • A fresh coat of paint in the corridors and classrooms.
  • Each classroom now has twice the number of fans and lights.
  • The Science Laboratory and Chapel have been refurbished.

Academic Upgrades:

  • Curriculum linking & bridging across sections
  • Online test series in Math & English for Std VI
  • Series of Teacher Trainings.
  • Revisions in the reading and remedial programmes.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” – Helen Keller

We have completed our PTA general body meetings and elections of the office bearers for this academic year. I’d like to thank the parents for their participative presence, congratulate the new PTA members, and look forward to their support through the year making the child’s experience a great one!

As we proceed with this school year let us dive deeply with action into the theme of the year, “Thank You God…”  We will celebrate all that God has gifted us with, particularly this wonderful school community. On that note as I sign off, thank you for being an integral part of this Golden Savion Community!

Yours gratefully,

Mrs. Valerie Mascarenhas
